For the 2005 Season



We've spent a lot of time updating MyFantasyLeague.com to address many of the features requested by our customers. While we'll continue to work on new and improved features in the coming months (check back to this page for frequent updates!), the following is a list of some of our 2005 system enhancements to date:

League Chat
An optional league chat room has been added for interactive, real-time communication.

MFL Game Day
Several enhancements have been made to this program as detailed here.

Site Survey
The 2005 site survey for commissioners and owners is now available via the Help > Take A Survey menu item.

Skins
Two new Holiday Skins have been added.

Blind Bidding
A 'Go To Round' set of links has been added to quickly move to any round when submitting bids.

MFL Game Day
A greatly-improved live scoring option is now available, including updates every 30 seconds. See this announcement for details.

Home Page Module
A 'Welcome' module has been added to offer an alternative method of logging in and out of leagues.

Skins
A new Harvest skin has been added.

Sort Criterion
Owners can now mouse-over/click on the 'Head to Head Record for Common Opponents' value in the tiebreakers report to see exactly how this has been scored for each franchise.

Identity Switching
The commissioner can now more easily switch between his/her commissioner and franchise account once defined using the Select Commissioner's Franchise Screen. The updated welcome message offers a commissioner and franchise link to one-click a change to the other account.

Blind Bidding
Two enhancements
The For Commissioners > Setup > Blind Bidding Waivers Setup screen now includes the same set of tiebreaker options used for breaking waiver request ties along with the additional "Earliest Submitted Bid Wins" option.
The For Owners > Waivers screen (during blind bidding event periods) now includes a "Move Up" and "Move Down" button to more easily manage blind bids.

Skins
Two new Halloween skins have been added.

Franchise Setup
Owners can now define address, city, state, and zip code for their own franchise.

Sort Criterion
The "Head to Head Record" sort criterion (used for both waivers and standings) has been renamed to "Head to Head Record for Common Opponents" to more clearly label how this sort option works.

Reports
The Future Draft Picks report now includes the ability to sort by "Franchise, Year, Round".

Pools
Both the NFL Pick'em/Confidence and the Survivor pools now allow for commissioners to edit owner picks. Additionally, the survivor pool can be restarted in any week (for leagues that have ended their pool quickly).

Reports
Two enhancements
The Free Agent report now lists the upcoming weekly opponent.
The Rosters report now includes a "With Stats" view to display both stat and fantasy data for each franchises players.
The NFL Schedule - By Team report now displays scores for completed games.
The Weekly Summary report now includes filters to display by potential, offensive, and defensive point totals (in addition to total points).

News Articles
The "My 5 Newest News Articles" home page message and the Franchise Information report's "My Player News" section have been added. In addition, the Reports > NFL > News Articles page now allows filtering on "My Players".

League Calendar Setup
The League Calendar Setup screen now includes a pop-up calendar to help define calendar-based events.

Salaries
Using your own salary cap amount, the site will now compute and populate initial salaries for a few hundred players.

In a partnership with MockDraftCentral.com we're happy to announce the support of a second real-time, live draft option.

Live Auctions
In a partnership with FantasyAuctioneer.com we're happy to announce the support of real-time, live auctions.

Waivers
Conditional blind bidding has been added to our waiver system.

User Interface
A size limit for custom data in all free-form text fields (home page messages, etc.) has been increased from 64k to 256k.

Live Draft
The audio clips to announce live draft picks has been updated to include rookies and many new veterans.

Waivers
A new season-long rotating waiver order has been added.

Draft Tracker
The draft tracker logic has been updated to use a flat 10% cutoff to improve it's selection (especially in IDP leagues).

Waivers
A new For Commissioners > Setup > Transactions Setup > Waiver Rules Calendar Setup screen has been added to help commissioners define their waiver requirements.

League Calendar
Commissioners can now click on the (X) for any event to delete the event directly from the league calendar.

News
Fantasy news from Rotoworld.com has been added to our existing KFFL and Sportsticker news articles.

Reports
Two enhancements
The Free Agents report will now include Contract Year and Contract Status data if defined.
The Monthly League Calendar report has an added full season view (Sept. through Jan.) to assist in setting up events.

Free Agents vs. Waivers
We're very pleased to announce that the site now can separate out true free agents from waivers (recently dropped players that are locked).

League Calendar
A "Jump To..." drop-down field has been added to quickly switch to any month of the current year.

Skins
Another skin has been added.

Trading
A couple of enhancements
A Trade Bait feature has been added to allow an owner to offer players and/or draft picks up for a potential trade.
The page layout of the "For Owners > Trades" screen has been reformatted to be more consistent with the rest of the site.

Developer's Program
The XML feed for the Draft Tracker Results now offers a cutoff parameter to specify the minimum number of draft in which a player must have been selected in order to be included in the results.

Rosters
Each franchise can now have up to 80 players (previously 64) on their roster.

(Announcement) Waivers
Auto-processing of waiver request has been turned on (we turn if off during the off-season).

Salaries/Contracts
A few additions
The XML feeds now include more salary related data for rosters and auctions results.
Contract Year & Contract Status columns are now available and appear on the Rosters report when defined.

Message Board
The "View All Topics" message board pages and the "Most Recent Message Board Posts" home page module have been updated to include an indication of how many new private messages (PMs) you currently have.

Salary Cap
Numerous salary cap enhancements have been made including adjustments, better deluxe league support, and additional contract information.

Waivers
Seven packaged waiver rules have been added to allow for quick setup of some common waiver system. Like other packages systems (scoring, schedule), you can start with these rule sets and edit/change as needed.

Reports
The Rosters report has a new option to display/hide the total contract years for each franchise.

Draft
A new My Draft List feature has been added to allow owners to create their own customized master draft list.

Skins
Two additional skins have been added.

Embedded Modules
A new Generate Embed Syntax program has been added to (1) keep customers informed of all of the current embedded home page modules, and (2) assist them by generating the specific code necessary to implement their use.

Home Page
The Home Page Setup screen now offers the ability to create multiple rows in additional to multiple columns.

Message Boards
The league message boards now offer a set of "smilies" (also known as emoticons).

Keepers
When upgraded leagues use the Setup > Load Keepers screen, these kept players will now appear tagged with a "K" in the roster report if the optional "drafted" column has been enabled.

Auction
Preseason auctions using the proxy bid can now specify to have the clock not reset when an owner's bid causes the high bid on a player to increase, but the bid is not big enough to exceed the current proxy amount for that player.

Developer's Program
Two additional draft-related XML documents are now available as part of our developer's program.

2005 Leagues
The 2005 leagues are now available. Current customers should use the commissioner home page message to upgrade their 2004 league to a new, 2005 league. New customers can create a new 2005 league. Use the For Commissioners > $$Purchase League$$ menu item to register your league. See our Purchase page for more ordering information.

Lineups
A few updates have been made
The Submit Lineups page has been redesigned to include YTD & weekly average points along with a per-player news column.
The Weekly Lineup Setup screen supports increased flexibility including quarter-hour deadlines, multiple deadlines, and new settings for weeks that do not kick off on Sunday.

Security
An optional commissioner lockout feature has been added to prevent a commissioner's access to pending transactions (blind bids, waiver requests, etc).

My Options
When viewing the My Options section of the Franchise Information report, commissioners may now submit waiver requests and blind bids (in addition to FCFS moves) on behalf of an owner.

Load Rosters
The free-form text entry box on the Load Rosters screen now supports player salaries.

Appearance
A couple of significant enhancements
Leagues now have the option to use a predefined skin or create their own CSS-based custom look.
The menu system has been upgraded to allow for CSS-based customization. In addition, several titles have been shortened and a few items moved to offer a better overall ease-of-use.

Polls
Multiple-choice polls (allowing franchises the ability to select more than one answer) have been added.

Home Page Messages
Two small enhancements
The new "Optional Message Label" field allows you to place a label on any home page messages for easier reference.
Home page messages can now optionally be placed in the header or footer of all of your league pages.

Drafting
A few significant changes
Deluxe leagues now support multiple, independent league drafts.
Keeper leagues can now optionally specify which draft pick will be skipped for each keeper player.

Message Boards
We're happy to announce some message board enhancements have been made
Sticky topics have been added.
Private message (PM) support has been added.
Avatar support has been added.
Searching support (topics and message posts) has been added.
There are more users-customizable options.
Easier topic-to-topic navigation.
Guest-readable support is now optional.
Layout has been standardized.
Post preview has been added.

Customizable Helmets
The For Owners > Advanced Franchise Setup screen now offers owners the ability to "create your own" helmet.

Setup
Some additional reporting changes
The Setup > Load Rosters screen has an improved searching capability along with the ability to populate rosters via a free-form text entry box (to more easily copy rosters from a spreadsheet, etc).
The Setup > Colors Setup screen now includes a dynamic Page Preview to better assist commissioners in choosing league colors.

Reports
Some additional reporting changes
The Draft report can include/exclude the optional comments keyed in for non-live online draft selections.
The Standings report may now include a 'Total Salary' column for salary cap leagues.

Scoring
The Setup > Scoring Setup > Select A Packaged Scoring System has been updated to include an option to allow scoring rules to be copied from another league.

Starting Lineups
The Setup > Players & Rosters > Starting Lineups Setup screen includes the added option to copy starters as soon as the previous week's results are finalized.

Custom Players
The custom player limit has been increased to 200 per league.

Auctions
Several auction enhancements have been made
Support has been added for deluxe league auctions.
The Setup > Auction Setup screen has been split into the General Auction Setup and Delete Auction screens.
The new Setup > Delete Auctions screen now includes an option to keep players on rosters even when their corresponding auction has been deleted from the system.
The Setup > General Auction Setup screen includes a new option to define starting auction funds per franchise based on each franchise's accounting balance.
The Setup > General Auction Setup screen also includes added options to reduce a franchise's funds based on current roster salary (for salary cap leagues).
The old 'Minimum Bid Raise' setting has been changes to the 'Auction Bids Must Be in Increments Of' setting.
The Auction Results - Detailed report has been merged with the Auction Results - Summary report (located in the Fantasy League Reports submenu).
The Auction Results - Detailed report now includes the sort option 'Last Bid Made'.

Setup
The For Commissioners > Setup screen has been modified to add the 'Adjust Scores and Standings' header which now contains all related sub-screens.

Accounting
The following accounting-related changes have been made
The Edit Accounting Records screen now allows commissioners to create & delete league-wide debits and credits (in addition to franchise-specific debits and credits).
The Accounting Report now includes a new table for the aforementioned league-wide debits and credits along with a date/time column for all accounting entries past accounting data. This will, for example, allow a league to define an accounting entry for high weekly score for the regular season and clear out this item for the league's playoffs.

Reports
Several screens have been modified to include a player's bye week and salary (where applicable) in free agent drop-down lists.

Positions
Three new defensive team positions have been added; TMDL, TMLB, and TMDB. These operate in the same way that a team QB position would, by combining stats for all the DLs (for example) for a given pro team. Please see this announcement for more information.

Appearance
A few early appearance-related options have been added.
The underlying appearance code has evolved from hard-coded HTML to CSS. This will offer commissioners much more flexibility in designing the overall look and feel of a league.
The Setup > Colors Setup screen now includes an option for the system-default color scheme. In addition, each individual background-related color setting can now be set to 'None' to effectively render the color transparent.
All of the system's home page modules have been standardized to support a Caption (row), a Header Row, and one or more data rows.

Fantasy Schedule
The Setup > Fantasy Schedule Setup screen now offers the ability to delete any individual week of the fantasy schedule.

Reports
The "Points Allowed - By Position" report has been updated to allow filtering based on a range of weeks in the season (to allow for better NFL team trend analysis).

Developer's Program
A new MFL Developer's Program has been initiated to allow XML access to much of the league data.

League Calendar
In addition to a new "Monthly League Calendar" report and home page module, we've converted the transaction-related settings (waivers, trades, etc.) to a calendar format. Not only will this greatly enhance the flexibility of the site's transactional system, but it will also simplify a complex part of the site's setup.
