Making Sure Your League Is Ready For Thursday Night Games
With the NFL scheduling Thursday to be the kickoff of games each week this season, we want to make sure you're prepared for those early starts to your Fantasy week.
- Waivers: All packaged waivers, by default, start kickoff of the first game of the week. With the addition of Thursday games all season that means that your events now start on kickoff of Thursday instead of Sunday at 1pm. You can check out these FAQs - How do I change my Packaged Waivers to always start on Sunday instead of Kickoff of the first game? and How do I modify the Packaged Waivers to allow players to be picked up until kickoff of their individual game instead of Kickoff the first game of the week? - for details on how to modify your packaged waiver events. We also have created Waiver Request 2012 as one of the new packages that automatically accounts for these Thursday games. One of our many enhancements this offseason was for the ability to define your waiver week for those leagues that limit waiver moves. This can be defined on the Setup > Waivers/Free Agents Setup page.
- Lineups: Make sure that Thursday games are accounted for by choosing your lineup deadline on the Setup > Weekly Lineup Setup. Also, to avoid any submitting lineup issues and potential “gaming” of the system by your owners with the new Thursday deadline, be sure to check out this FAQ so that all of your settings are properly defined.
Hopefully a little off-season maintenance will save your league from any Thursday night drama or Sunday morning panic.
Sincerely,
The MyFantasyLeague.com Team
