Help! I forgot my password!
Remember, passwords are case sensitive - are you sure you're typing it in exactly as you typed it in before? If you've really forgotten follow these simple steps to be reminded:
  1. From your league home page, select the Password Reminder option under the For Owners heading.
  2. If you are a franchise owner, select your franchise from the list. If you are the league commissioner, select All from the franchise list.
  3. Press the Go! button.
  4. Your password will be automatically sent to the email address you have registered with myfantasyleague.com.
  5. If the above doesn't work, please contact your league commissioner via the Commish email link on your league home page, and request that he re-set your password for you.
If your browser supports cookies, you should check the Remember My Password option on your league home page, and you will never have to type in your password again!
Hey - my scoring for week x is wrong!
There are several things that could lead to an incorrect score for a player. The single most common is that your scoring system is set up wrong. For us to diagnose these kinds of problems, you must provide us with the following information:
  1. The league name and league home page address
  2. The franchise that the player is on
  3. The name of the player/team in question.
  4. The week of the NFL season in question.
  5. Next, go into the "detailed scoring" report to see exactly why we are reporting the points for the player.
  6. Based on that information, tell us exactly what points you think the player should have been awarded.
  7. If the problem is a discrepancy in raw statistics (i.e., 59 yards rushing versus 60 yards rushing), please double-check a source like NFL.com to be positive that the statistic in question is in fact wrong.
If you provide us with all of the above information, we should quickly and easily be able to fix the problem for you. If you choose to not include some of the above information, we may or may not be able to help you in a timely manner. Most likely we will just end up asking you to re-send in your request with all of the above information included. An important note to league commissioners - you should never use the score adjuster to account for things like incorrect statistics, or incorrectly set up scoring systems - this only masks problems, and does not fix them!
I want to pick up a player that I don't see listed on the free agent list - how do I pick him up?
Just follow these simple steps:
  1. Double-check your league's Roster Report to make sure that he is not already on another franchise's roster.
  2. Make sure you look a couple of places above and below the place where you expect to see the player listed on the free agent list - some players are slightly out of alphabetical order.
  3. If you still don't see that player, please send an email to support@myfantasyleague.com with the following information: your league name and home page address, the player's name (spelled correctly!), the player's NFL team, and the player's position. We will add him to our database, and notify you when he is available to select from the free agent list.
How do I change the position for a player?
To change a player's position, just send an email to support@myfantasyleague.com with the following information: your league name and home page address, the player in question, and what position you would like to list him as, and we will notify you when his position has been changed for your league.
Why doesn't the text applet work on my league home page?
Some applets are not compatible with JPG backgrounds. If you have a JPG background on your league page, and are not able to see your applet, your options for fixing this are: Otherwise, you won't be able to use the applet on your league home page.
I've just adjusted the scores - why don't the adjusted points show up anywhere?
As mentioned at the bottom of the score adjuster page, you need to "calculate results" after adjusting scores to make sure all updated points are propogated across all league pages.
Why can't I hear the sound clip I've specified for my franchise/league sound clip?
There could be several reasons why. Please check all of the following things.
  1. Can you hear other sounds on your computer? If not, please check your computer owner's manual to be sure that your speakers are properly attached to your computer and configured.
  2. Can you hear sounds on other web pages? If not, there is a good chance that your web browser is not configured to hear sound clips properly. You should check your web browser's documentation for instructions on how to set it up so you can hear .WAV files.
  3. Is the URL specified for your league/franchise sound clip correct? URLs must be entered EXACTLY correctly in order to play the sound you've specified. The best way to test this is to go to your franchise setup page or your appearance page, highlight your sound clip URL with your mouse, use the Copy option off your Edit menu to copy the URL, then paste it into your browser's Location type-in box, to try to go directly to that URL. Your web browser should start playing the specified sound clip. If you hear or see ANYTHING else other than the sound clip you've specified, then you've entered an incorrect URL.
  4. You've specified a file type other than .WAV - .WAV files are the ONLY kind of sound clips you can embed into league web pages.
If you've checked all of the above things, and all looks OK, you should contact your PC's support line to have them help you with your problem. Due to the complex nature of audio problems we cannot offer further support for audio problems.
What is HTML and how can I include it in my league pages?
HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language, and it is the language that is used to create web pages. Using HTML is allowed on certain myfantasyleague.com pages. You have three options for including HTML in your web pages:
  1. If you already know HTML, just type away!
  2. If you want to learn HTML, you a good reference can be found here.
  3. If you don't know it, and don't want to learn it, here's how you can still put HTML formatting into your myfantasyleague.com web pages.
    1. Type up what you want, in the format you want, in a program like Word, Excel, or any other newer word processing or spreadsheet program.
    2. From the File menu, select the Save As... option.
    3. From the window that pops up, change the Save As File Type drop-down list to HTML.
    4. Save the file to your hard drive.
    5. run Notepad, or some other text editor program.
    6. Open the file you saved in step (d) above. What you are now looking at is HTML.
    7. From the Edit menu, select the Select All option.
    8. From the Edit menu, select the Copy option.
    9. Go to your web browser, and click once in the type-in box that you want to put the HTML into.
    10. From your web browser's Edit menu, select the Paste option.
    11. Press the "Save" button at the bottom of the web page.
How can I, as commissioner, submit an owner's lineup after the league-specified lineup deadline?
The lineup submission deadline only applies to owners in the league - it does not apply to the commissioner. As a commissioner, all you have to do is go to the "Submit Lineups" page for the franchise in question, and then change the lineup week back to the week you'd like to submit lineups for, and then select his starters for the week in question. Owners that are concerned about this power the commissioner has need not be - the "Starting Lineups" page contains a date/time stamp of when each owner's lineup was submitted.
Why do I get the error message "Could not perform the operation because the default mapi client is not installed properly." when clicking on the "MS League Email" link? (Or, why are not all email addresses included when I click on the "MS League Email" link?)
According to Microsoft's web site, there is a bug in Microsoft Outlook which limits the number of characters that can be included in a "mailto:" link to 456. You can find a work-around to the problem here.
The draft timer expired on someone - how do they make up their pick?
The commissioner can, at any time, use the "waivers" option to make up the pick for that owner. When the pick gets made up, and what player can be selected, is strictly up to your league rules. Or, you may choose the "Allow the system to automatically pick a player for the owner based the highest-ranked available player according to rankings displayed on the Draft Tracker page." option on your Draft Setup page.
Why can't I submit my week x lineups?
Most likely because it's past your league-specified lineup submission deadline. To check, go to your "league rules" report. Look for the line that reads "Lineup Submission Deadline" - if that day/time has already passed for this week, it is past your lineup submission deadline, and you will not be able to submit lineups for that week. If your commissioner wants to change the league-specified lineup submission deadline, he can do that on Transactions Setup page. This problem is especially prevalent if you have a lineup submission deadline of a time other than kickoff of the first game each week, and there is a Thursday game. What the system does is start with kickoff of the first game of the week, and walks backwards until it gets to the date/time specified on league setup step 3, and considers that your deadline for the week. For example, if your lineup submission deadline is Friday at 5PM EST, and the first game of the week is Thursday at 8:20PM EST, the system considers the last Friday at 5PM EST before kickoff to be the deadline, so in this case, your deadline would be almost six full days before kickoff! Most likely not what you want!
How do I set my league playoff schedule up?
Once it comes time for your league playoffs, you just need to go to the Set Head-to-Head option on your league home page to set up the playoff schedule for each week. Make sure that all entries for teams not in the playoffs read "Bye Week." All teams that have lineups, including those on bye week, will still have their point totals calculated for playoff weeks.
Why doesn't the automatic scheduler work like it's supposed to? (or, why does the site change my divisional alignment around?)
As mentioned on the franchise setup page, in order for the automatic scheduling to work like like it's supposed to, you cannot change the divisional alignment - you must leave each team in the division that the site assigns. If you change the division, the automatic schedule will not work like it is expected to. Also, if you choose to over-ride the default divisional alignment, and then later choose an automatic schedule when you go through the league setup the next time, the site will automatically revert the franchises back to the divisional alignment needed for the automatic scheduling to work. One solution to this problem is to set up the divisional alignment the way you want it to be, and then use the "Set Head-to-Head" option on your league home page to manually set up the head-to-head schedule the way you'd like it to be. Another possible work-around to this situation would be to re-assign franchises on the franchise setup page. For example, if you want teams A, B, C and D to be in the first division, you could go to the franchise setup page and change the franchises around (WITHOUT changing the default divisions) so that franchises 1 through 4 are teams A through D.
Why isn't myfantasyleague.com sending me email?
There could be several reasons why:
  1. The owner's email address has been entered incorrectly. To make sure that the email address that has been entered into myfantasyleague.com is correct, do the following:
    1. Go to the Franchise Info report for the franchise in question.
    2. Click on their email address.
    3. Send them a test message.
    4. If you get an error message back, or they never receive the message, then the email address registered with myfantasyleague.com is incorrect. To correct the email address, just choose the Franchise Setup option for the franchise in question.
  2. The commissioner's email address and/or another owners email address is entered incorrectly on the site. The site requires all email addresses to be valid, as it tries to make the email that it generates to be "From" your commissioner or one of your league-mates. If an invalid email address is entered, your ISP might be set up to reject an email due to it recognizing the email as coming from an invalid address.
  3. The owner has elected to not receive email from the system. This option can be changed via the Franchise Setup option.
  4. Any draft picks made in the "live draft" mode will not be emailed to owners. The "live draft" mode is like a chat room, where it is expected that many or most people from your league will be logged on at the same time to conduct the draft, so there would be no need to have email updates of the draft while in the live draft chat room.
  5. You haven't waited long enough to receive the email message. myfantasyleague.com sends out email immediately once the transaction or weekly score update takes place. However, the internet can be a complex place, and sometimes it can take several hours or more for you to receive the email in question. Experience has shown that this is especially true with AOL.
  6. You (or your ISP, or your company) has "spam" filtering software installed. myfantasyleague.com "masks" the sender of the email message to make it seem like the message came from your league commissioner, which makes it easy to reply to the message. This masking may cause some email filtering programs to consider it spam, and thus not deliver it. Check your email program, and with your ISP, to make sure that automatic spam filtering is not done. Note to AOL users: please go under AOL keyword Mail Controls to be sure that your account is set up to allow the site to send you email!
  7. If you have a HotMail account, you must add 'myfantasyleague.com' (without the quotes) to your HotMail Safe List.
  8. Your email provider is having problems. We send out email within minutes of a transaction occurring. However, that is not a guarantee that you will receive it immediately. If your email provider is having problems on their end, you will not receive that email until their problems are resolved. The easiest way to determine if that's the case is - are you receiving email from other people at this same address? If not, that's a good indication that the problem might be with your email provider.
  9. The final check you can do - have one of your league mates who is receiving email from the site check the "To:" line of the message that they are getting from the site to look for your email address listed. If it is listed, you can tell that the site is sending you email the same way and at the same time that it is sending your league-mates email, so the problem must be with #6 or #7 above. Please note, however, that the reverse is not true - just because your league-mate does not see your email address on the "To:" line of the message that the site sends to them, it does not mean that the site is not sending you email! Please see the following question, Why isn't myfantasyleague.com sending my league-mate email? for further clarification.
  10. If none of the above applies to you, and you still are not able to receive myfantasyleague.com email, please send email to support@myfantasyleague.com and we'll try to look into the problem. Make sure to include your league and franchise name in your email message!
Why isn't myfantasyleague.com sending my league-mate email?
If you don't see a given owner's name on the "To:" line of your email message from the site, don't just assume that he's not getting sent an email message. The site sends HTML messages out at a different time than "plain text" email messages. If you've opted to receive email in one format, and he's opted to receive email in another format, each of your email addresses will not appear on the "To:" line of the other's email. Before assuming that someone is not getting an email, please check with them to be sure that they are not getting it.
I just uploaded a new logo - why do I still see the old one?
It's an issue of your web browser "caching" the old logo. In order to see the new one, you have to clear out your web browser's cache - the quickest and easiest way to do that is to quit your web browser, and re-start it - then you will see the new logo.
Why do some waiver picks get queued up, and other times waiver picks go through immediately?
Using the commissioner password on your league home page allows you to immediately add/drop any player you wish, without going through the normal queueing of picks for leagues with ordered waivers. If you wish to act as an owner, and queue up your picks, use your franchise password on the league home page rather than the commissioner password.
Why does myfantasyleague.com sometimes give me an error message when I press "reload"?
Certain myfantasyleague.com operations, like waivers, make changes to the myfantasyleague.com database. Once you've dropped one player, and picked up another via the waivers option, the first player is no longer on your roster. If you press your browser's reload button from the page that confirms the waiver move, what this is telling myfantasyleague.com to do is to re-execute the waiver that you just performed. Since the player you just dropped is no longer on your roster, you will get an error message indicating that.
What happens when I check the "Remember My Password?" option on the home page?
If you check this option, myfantasyleague.com will store your password on your computer using a cookie, as long as your browser supports cookies. Virtually all browsers, including Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer, support cookies. If you're not sure if your browser does, check your browser's documentation

Since this password is stored on the computer that you're accessing myfantasyleague.com from, you should use the logout option on your league home page once you are done using any computer that you are not the primary user of. If you have concerns about cookies, they will probably be addressed here.

How do I decide on what password to use?
If it's important to you to make sure that nobody else can "assume ownership" of your league or franchise (and it should be!), you should use a password that is hard for other people to guess. Some general guidelines to follow: it should be at least 6 characters long and it should contain at least some non-alphabetic characters. Most of all, don't choose an easily guessed password like football or nfl or your last name - your most hated rival will be sure to guess it, and he'll end up trading away your hottest player for some second string place kicker!
Help! I forgot the address for my league home page!
Simply go to our home page at http://www.myfantasyleague.com/ where you can search based on your league name or your league commissiner's email address.
I can't select more than one player when I try to do waivers or pre-draft. What's wrong?
The way you select multiple items from a list of items depends on your browser. Netscape for Windows requires that you hold the Control key down while selecting each player. With Netscape for Macintosh you must hold down the Command key. If you have a browser other than the above two, you should look at your browser documentation for assistance.
On the list of players and teams to pick up for waivers, pre-drafting and drafting, the first player or team is always selected. How do I de-select them?
Here is how to de-select the player and team:
  1. Hold the control key down on your keyboard.
  2. Using your mouse, click on both the first player in the player list, and then the first team in the team list.
  3. This will de-select the first player and team in each list.
  4. You may then make whatever choices you would like from each list.
Note that users of Netscape Navigator will not experience this problem.
Hey - I heard cookies were bad, but myfantasyleague.com uses them!
myfantasyleague.com uses cookies for one thing - saving your own password on your own computer. The idea here is to make your life simpler so that you don't have to type in your password each time. myfantasyleague.com does not use cookies for any other reason. If you really don't like the idea of myfantasyleague.com using a cookie to remember your password, simply don't check the Remember My Password option on your league home page. If you still have concerns about cookies, please refer to Cookie Central's FAQ.
How can I import myfantasyleague.com web pages into my word processing or spreadsheet program?
You have several options:
  1. If you have a recent version of a program like Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel, or any other program that can import HTML, it's a piece of cake! All you need to do is:
    1. Go to the myfantasyleague.com web page that you want to import.
    2. From your browser's File menu, select the Save As... option. In the window that pops up, you will be able to specify file type. Make sure to save the file as HTML. Give the file an appropriate name, and save it to your hard drive.
    3. Go to your word processing program or spreadsheet program. From the File menu, select the Open... option. In the window that pops up, make sure you select HTML in the file type list.
    4. Open the file. Your program will then automatically display the myfantasyleague.com report.
  2. If the above doesn't work for you, all you have to do is save the file as type plain text instead of HTML at step b. Then, open the plain text file in your word processing or spreadsheet program - all programs can import plain text files.
  3. The way that you may be tempted to use, but will almost always yield the poorest results, is the Copy and Paste method. Basically, select the text inside your browser window using your mouse, and from the Edit menu, select Copy. Go to the other program, and from the Edit menu, select Paste. Again, you will most likely get poor results using this method, but feel free to try!
Why are retired guys listed on the list of available players?
We operate many leagues on a year-round basis, as well as many leagues with very, very, large rosters. Players who might have retired within the last year or so, might have been added/dropped/traded in the NFL pre-season, and appear on transaction reports, or are still of interest to some leagues, so we must keep these players listed. If you do not wish to see those players listed, you can do so via the "Display NFL Free Agents on Fantasy Free Agent Lists?" option on the Appearance page.
Why do non-starters sometimes appear on my weekly results report even though they're no longer on my roster?
When you submit your weekly starting lineup, myfantasyleague.com takes a "snapshot" of your non-starters at that time. If you later make a waiver move, or a trade, which involves one of your non-starters, myfantasyleague.com will not update your non-starters list to reflect that fact. In order to see the current non-starters in your weekly report, you need to re-submit your starting lineup. Note that this will not affect your weekly scoring, as the player in question is only a non-starter.
What exactly does Out, Doubtful, Questionable and Probable mean on the Submit Lineups page and on the Top Performers report? (or, why isn't John Doe listed on the NFL Injury report?, or, why doesn't the injury report get updated more often?)
This is the official NFL injury status of the player in question. The NFL releases this information Wednesday and Friday evenings. Some very, very important notes regarding this report:
