Submenus + Skins = Templates

Friday, June 12th, 2009

We’ve recently added two new features to the site:

  1. Secondary vertical and horizontal submenus, which offer quicker and easier access to key league functionality on all league pages.
  2. Three new skins available on the “Select A Skin” page: All-American, Blue and SuperLeague

Together, these options allow you to basically have template-like menus on any skin, plus, skins that looked like the “templates” we offered in 2008 and prior seasons.  In a nutshell – you can have the best of both worlds – have your page appearance set up using any skin you’d like, plus, have the vertical and horizontal submenus that were previously available only via templates.

With these changes, templates are effectively obsolete, so effective immediately, we’re “deprecating” templates.  That means, if your league does not currently use a template, you cannot start using one now, but leagues that currently use them will be able to continue using them, at least for the 2009 season.  Our current plans are to completely retire the “template” idea for the 2010 season.

As always, please submit a support ticket to us if you have any questions about these enhancements.

Average Auction Values

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

We’re happy to announce another new feature available for the 2009 season -  Average Auction Values.

Like Average Draft Position data for draft leagues, Average Auction Values are the average amount of money an owner has spent on a given player across all auction leagues we host on MyFantasyLeague.com, assuming that each franchise owner starts their auction with $200 to spend.

In addition, for those folks who are programmers and can make use of our developer’s program, we’re offering this average auction value data in XML format, too.

As always, please submit a support ticket to us if you have any questions, ideas or suggestions regarding this new feature!

New Secondary Menu Options Available

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

We’re happy to announce secondary horizontal and vertical menus, which offer the appearance options available in “skins”, coupled with the menus available in our “templates”.

The For Commissioners > Setup > Appearance Setup > Menu Setup page has been updated to have two new options on it: “Display secondary horizontal menu?” and “Display secondary vertical menu?” – if you change those options to “Yes”, it will give you secondary menus that allow easier access to key league functionality which was previously only available with “templates”.
